PROCESS FOR PREPARING LITHIUM AND MANGANESE OXIDES

A process is disclosed for preparing a lithium manganese oxide by reacting at least one lithium compound and at least one manganese compound in hydrothermic conditions, i.e. in heated aqueous solutions at sub-atmospheric pressures. Also disclosed is such a lithium and manganese oxide and its use as cathode material for electrochemical cells.
