PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively inhibit the deposition of the calcium, magnesium and silicate scales on the inner face of a boiler by forming the scale inhibiting composition for a steam generator from the polymer contg. an aspartic acid monomer unit and a functional aspartic acid monomer unit. SOLUTION: This scale inhibiting composition is formed from a polymer contg. an aspartic acid monomer unit and a functional aspartic acid monomer unit. The aspartic monomer unit of the polymer is expressed by formula I (where M<1> is H, alkali metal, alkaline-earth metal or ammonium). The functional aspartic acid monomer is shown by formula II (where R<1> is H, CH3 and CH2 CH3 , and R<2> is selected from a group consisting of OH, alkyl, aryl, alkyl replaced by >=1 hydroxy group, aryl replaced by >=1 OR group, etc.).
