PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low molecular fucan sulfate having effective anticoagulation activities based on both the whole mechanism of APTT activities/coagulation and antithrombin activities, and effective antithrombotic activities. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical composition comprises 12.5-15% sulfur, 43-57% fucose, 2-9% uronic acid and Phaeophyceae or Pheophycee characterized by 14,000-29,000 dalton molecular weight, (-130 deg.) to (-170 deg.) specific rotatory power, 40-80I.U/mg APTT(activated part thromboplastic time) and 18-30I.U./mg TT(thrombin time) titer. |
