PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a dot gain which decreases the resolution from generating by a method wherein by a bright pixel which is bright or slightly tinted with a color, a color ink pixel or a gray scale black pixel is surrounded. SOLUTION: An ink jet printer has a printing head, and a printing is performed by using a phase variable ink. On the surface 30 of a receiving medium (an intermediate transfer surface or a final receiving medium), solid ink drops 31, 34 which are not white are arranged in a manner to be adjacent to a white space which is filled with clear or bright gray ink drops 32, or a part which is a non-printing space. Bright or slightly tinted ink drops 32 work in a manner to surround the adjacent non-white solid ink drops 31, 34, and prevent the ink drops 31, 34 from expanding to a part which is a non-printing area. In the same manner, the depth of the clear or bright gray ink drops 32 may be not less than 1 pixel along a border in a manner to surround the edge of the solid ink drops. |
