A method for the preparation of a sticky label material comprising a laminate with various components attached, involves the use of a continuous sheet of a laminate material (4a, 4b) with components (5) applied to it, which is converted into the sticky label material. Preferably, the converting process comprises one of the following: (i) a printing step, applying a silicone coating (6) on one side of the laminate and applying an adhesive coating (3) on the opposite side; (ii) printing one side of the laminate and coating it with silicone and applying an adhesive coating on the opposite side; and (iii) applying adhesive coatings to both sides of the laminate, covering the coatings with silicone-coated release paper (7) and preferably printing the release paper. The sticky label material is then punched down to the backing layer (1) so that labels can be dispensed from this backing. The laminate includes a polyester film (4a). |
