<p>A compound of formula (I), wherein X is carboxy or a group of formula -PO(OH)-R where R is an unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbyl group, R1 is a monovalent aromatic or araliphatic group connected through a carbon atom thereof to the indicated carbon atom, R2 is hydrogen or an unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbyl group, and Y is oxygen or sulphur when X is carboxy, or sulphur when X is -PO(OH)-R, or a salt or ester thereof. Compound I is useful in the treatment or prevention of a condition characterized by stimulation of a GABA¿B? receptor.</p> |
