<p>An apparatus (30) for automatically determining the orientation of a digital camera (20) while a picture is being taken, and for storing the captured digital image (36) in memory (34) according to the orientation of the camera, such that the digital image is displayed (10) in the correct orientation when viewed using an image manipulation program.
