A monitoring apparatus of a bearing is described, which comprises a signal generating means provided on a rotary shaft (30), which is supported by a slide bearing, for generating a different signal corresponding to an axial position of said rotary shaft (30), and a detecting means arranged in a position opposite to said signal generating means for receiving said signal and detecting a distance from said signal generating means. The monitoring apparatus may provide the detection of not only a degree of radial and thrust abrasion of the bearing but also a direction of rotation and thrust of the shaft. |
