摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an inorg. fiber plate catalyst thin and high in strength by using a leno weave inorg. fiber made base material as a meshlike base material in the inorg. fiber plate catalyst in which a catalyst component is embedded between a mesh of a net of the inorg. fiber made meshlike base material. SOLUTION: The plate catalyst 16 high in density and having a high strength is produced by supplying a pasty catalyst component 13 between the inorg. fiber made meshlike base materials 11 and 12, extending the catalyst component 13 while pressing by using a pair of press coating rollers 15 and wiping the catalyst component on the base material. At this time, an adhesion of the catalyst component 13 on the coating roller 15 is prevented with a water absorbable paper for preventing adhesion interposed at an outside of the base materials 11 and 12. In the plate catalyst 16 produced in such a way, the plate catalyst 16 high in density and having the high strength is produced by using the leno weave inorg. fiber made base material as the meshlike base materials 11 and 12. For example, a glass fiber such as E glass, S glass and silica glass and various kinds of glasses such as silica alumina based ceramic fiber are used as the inorg. fiber made base material.
