Chestnut tannin extract, procedure for its preparation, and its use

A chestnut tannin extract is described comprising a powdered spray dried solution of condensed water extract of the chestnut wood of Castanea sativa Mill. without bark and sapwood, aged from 40 to 50 years, and a microbiologically absolutely safe sugar, where the ratio of dry residue of the extract to the sugar amounts to 1:2 up to 1:6. It is obtained by extraction of crushed wood with addition of sugar.
