The application device, which can be applied in a procedure requiring conveyance, for instance of a radiation source, comprises an applicator (4) and a flexible tube (1), wherein, for instance, the radiation source is fed to the applicator (4) by means of a transport cable (3). The applicator (4) is connected to a flexible pipe (1) by a coupling element (10) having a through-flow channel (12). The coupling element (10) is provided with means to reduce the diameter (6) of the through-flow channel (12) to a value which is lower than the external diameter of the transport cable (3) and the radiation source, when the connection between the coupling element (10) and the applicator (4) is disengaged. |
