FIELD: repair by welding, applicable for repair of shrouded rollers of secondary cooling zone of continuous casting machines, as well as of other shrouded parts of metallurgical and rolling equipment. SUBSTANCE: repair is accomplished by elimination of defects, preheating and concurrent heating, welding-on of rings by martensite-class material with subsequent heat and mechanical treatment; welding-on is performed by material with equivalent content of carbon C<SB>e</SB>= 0,4-2,0%, relation between C<SB>e</SB> and thickness of built-up layer being C<SB>e</SB>/b=0.08 to 2.2.
