PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacture of the plane display device which eliminates the need for positioning operation except positioning requiring high precision in each process once positioning is done previously before a series of processes and the carrying instrument for the manufacture, and the manufacture of the plane display device which can easily and securely be positioned to about 50 to 100μm. SOLUTION: A display panel 1 is mounted on the carrying instrument 2 while disabled to shift in position, and in this mount state, conveyance between process devices and machining by the process devices are performed. When the panel is mounted, positioning marks 11 and 31 are visually matched with each other to position the display panel 1 and carrying instrument 2. At the time of the machining by the process devices, the carrying instrument 2 and process devices 4 are engaged and then arranged in a specific positioning state, so that the display panel 1 and process devices 4 are arranged while positioned.
