PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the optical orientation process of an optical system in by making a UV light source necessary for irradiation for optical orientation linearly polarized state, and performing the optical orientation by using the linear polarizing plate of the constituting element member of a liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: A photosensitive material 15, which forms an orientation film is applied on one surface side of a substrate 16 for the liquid crystal panel and the linear polarizing plate 13 is stuck to the other surface side. The UV rays from a UV ray source 11, such as mercury lamp, is made parallel rays by a collimator 12 and the photosensitive material 15 applied in the substrate 16 is irradiated with the linear polarized light 100 through the linear polarizing plate 13. A polyacrylate system, polyvinyl system, amide system and imide system are usable for the photosensitive material 15 and materials, such as silane compd., polysilane compd., are usable as well. The optical orientation treatment is executed by using the linear polarizing plate 13 used as the constituting element members of the liquid crystal display panel in such a manner. The liquid crystal display panel is completed by using the polarizing plate 13 in constitution of the display panel and sticking the polarizing plate to the substrate 16. |
