Preparation of organo-mineral fertiliser comprises preparing the first mixture of mineral constituents (1,3), preparing the second mixture of organic constituents (7,9) and mixing the two compositions to a paste in a mixer (13) followed by: (a) granulating the paste; (b) baking (19) the granules (17) without destroying the organic elements, and recovering the vapour, cooling to liquefy and returning to the mixer (13); and (c) cooling the baked granules rapidly. Also claimed is the fertiliser prepared as above containing 5-50% organic elements.
