Box used for radiation therapy on fingers or toes

The apparatus is used for radiation therapy especially on the fingers and toes of a patient. It consists of a box (1) into which the patient's hand or foot may be inserted. The sidewalls (16) and endwalls (17) are made of thick shielding material and there is a double lid (22) made of thick shielding material. The radiation source (6) may be loaded into one end of the box. The endwalls opposite the radiation source are made of two side sections with grooves (26) accommodating lugs in the sides of pieces which fit above and below the patient's wrist. Tubes (7) transmit radiation through a middle wall (27) to an end-fitting into which the patient's finger or toe is inserted.
