The return line (188) and/or the cooling oil current (187) flowing down from the pump assembly (190) can be fed at least in part into the suction side (155) of the high pressure pump downstream of the low pressure feed pump (110). A route valve (171) is provided to shut off the connection between the low pressure feed pump and the high pressure stage. The pressurised fluid throttled off through the return line and/or the downstream cooling oil current can be fed through the route valve. The high pressure pump is preferably a pump with constant displacement volume with pressure restrictor valve in the high pressure stage.
