PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material high in sensitivity and small in fog by incorporating a mixed valence metal complex having >=2 metal ions different in oxidation number from each other. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material provided on a support with at least one silver halide emulsion layer contains the mixed valence metal complex having >=2 metal ions different in the oxidation number from each other. The mixed valence metal complex means a multinuclear metal complex having the central metal atoms different in the oxidation number from each other, embodied by FeIII4 [FeII(CN)3 .XH2 0 (Prussian Blue) [(H3 N)5 (μ<-> pz)Ru(NH3 )5 ]<5+> and the like, where pz is pyrazine, and further, this metal complex can be embodied by Tungsten Blue, Molybdenum Blue, and the like, and the metal ions are selected from iron, ruthenium, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and platinum.
