The apparatus moulds-on sandal soles. The last forms the upper boundary of the mould and holds the sandal upper. The mould cavity is completed by the side sections, and as appropriate, a base die. In this cavity, the sole is moulded onto the upper. Upper edges of the side sections complement the last contour, forming a mould sealing zone. The seal (11) is novel. It is located in the sealing zone between the last (7) and the side sections (2, 3). It is elastic, and when the side sections are closed in, it fully encloses the last.
