In a stationery burster which separates continuous stationery into individual form lengths by passage between spaced pairs of co-operating rollers, there is provided a stationery feeding channel comprising stationery-engaging strip members held against movement in the direction of stationery travel but yieldable in a direction transverse to this direction. Continuous form stationery 12 is fed through slot 26 and through movably mounted rollers 20 past tensioning means 24, through a fixed set of rollers 22 and out through a further slot (26b, Fig. 2, not shown) on to a tray (27). The stationery is guided by a plurality of spaced, resiliently mounted, strips 116 (suspended between springs 126 on brackets 120 and fixed bars 134 on brackets 130). The roller assembly 20, longitudinally movable to adjust for stationery of different dimensions, comprises upper roller 36 and lower, driven, roller 42, both rollers having axially spaced grooves (36e, Fig. 3, not shown) to accommodate the strips 116. Tensioning means 24 connected to assembly 20 comprises a plurality of axially spaced discs 64 on a shaft 62 which is eccentrically mounted to permit raising or lowering of the periphery of discs 64 relative to the path of stationery travel to increase or decrease the tension applied thereto. Assembly 22 includes upper and lower rubber covered rollers 90 and 92 grooved in a similar manner to rollers 36 and 42 and driven at a faster rate than these last mentioned rollers in order to tear the stationery.</p> |
