PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve discharge reliability of a recording head in a method and apparatus for recording by discharging a recording ink and a printability improving liquid to a material to be recorded. SOLUTION: In the case of scanning a material to be recorded, discharging a printability improving liquid, discharging an ink to the material to which the liquid is discharged, and recording an image on the material, number of times of scanning on the same area of the material is decided at a step S54. A discharging ratio to dots on the material is varied in response to the obtained number of times, and hence first discharging amount of the liquid at one scanning is variably set (steps S56, S57). |
