PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal recording material having a thermal layer containing a specified silver acetylene compound in which absorption efficiency of infrared laser ray or the like is enhanced and high quality recording can be realized while suppressing background coloring. SOLUTION: The thermal recording material comprises a thermal layer preferably containing a coloring matter absorbing infrared ray and a binder in addition to an organic silver salt and a developer thereof wherein the thermal layer further contains a silver acetylene compound represented by a formula (where, A represents polyoxyether group, polyaminoether group or polythiol group, L represents a chemical bond between carbon-carbon triple bond and A or a group of (k+1) valence, k and 1 represent an integer of 1 or above, and m represents an integer of 0 or above). When An irradiated laser light is converted through coloring matter absorbing infrared ray into thermal energy, a part of the compound is decomposed and reduced efficiently to silver atoms thus enhancing thermal sensitivity. |
