<p>1290495 Desulphurizing iron; fluxes AIKOH CO Ltd 5 Dec 1969 [13 Aug 1969] 59573/69 Heading C7D and C7M The iron is treated with moulded blocks of a composition containing in percentage by weight soda ash 60-85 portland cement 3-25 water glass 0-10 borax 0-5 sodium chloride 0-5 calcium-containing substance 0-10 carbonaceous matter 0-5 iron powder 0-10 water 7-15 the blocks having an apparent specific gravity of 1À3 to 2À5 and being provided with grooves or holes extending through them. The calcium -containing substance may be calcium oxide, hydroxide, carbonate, chloride, fluoride or mixtures of these, while the carbonaceous matter may be coke dust, graphite powder or charcoal powder. Each dimension of the block is preferably 3 to 500 mm.</p> |
