<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously correct both of skew and side registration of a paper sheet by detecting the side end of the paper sheet under being carried by a paper sheet side end detection means and controlling the rotation direction of the paper sheet based on the detection result. SOLUTION: Carrier rollers 1a, 1b setting a rotational drive motor 9 to their drive source are provided in different positions in the carrying direction and can be moved in the direction crossing at right angles with the carrying direction with moving drive motors 11a, 11b as their drive sources. Paper sheet detection sensors 13a, 13b are provided on a paper sheet side end reference position and, when a sensor detects no side end of a paper sheet 2, the moving motors 11a, 11b are so controlled as to move the carrier roller 1a (1b) corresponding to the sensor in the direction for approaching to the paper sheet side end reference position and, when detecting the side end of the paper sheet 2, as to move in the direction for separating from the reference position so that the both skew and side registration of the paper sheet 2 under carrying can be corrected.</p> |
