PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liq. lubricant excellent in lubricating characteristics such as extreme-pressure properties and resistances to friction and abrasion and also in dispersion stability of a carbon black in a liq. substance. SOLUTION: This lubricant is obtd. by bonding, physically or pref. chemically, at least one polymer selected from among polymers of a long-chain alkyl side chain type, a block type, or a graft type to the surface of a carbon black and then mixing and dispersing the resultant product into a liq. substance. The polymer bonded has a segment (I) having an affinity for the carbon black and a segment (II) having an affinity with the liq. substance; hence, segment (I) is oriented toward the carbon black and segment (II) is oriented so as to be exposed to the outside, thus enabling the carbon black to be homogeneously dispersed with an average particle size of a sub-μm order in the liq. substance. Therefore, the lubricant is esp. excellent in lubricating characteristics such as extreme-pressure properties and resistances to abrasion and friction. |
