PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the forced feeding properties of a pump and flow retentivity by including a thickening polymer, a butyl carbitol derivative, polyethylene glycol and polysaccharides therein. SOLUTION: This additive for a cement is obtained by compounding 1-20wt.% one or more thickening polymers selected from a polyacrylic acid derivative, a polyacrylamide derivative, a cellulose ether, a polyalkylene glycol ester of a fatty acid and an alkyl phenyl ether with 10-80wt.% one or more butyl carbitol derivatives selected from butyl carbitol, tert-butyl carbitol and an adduct of 1-2mol propylene oxide to the butyl carbitol, 5-50wt.% polyethylene glycol having 4,000-150,000 weight-average molecular weight and 1-20wt.% one or more polysaccharides selected from curdlan, a sugar alcohol, xanthan gum, guar gum, wellan gum andβ-1,3-glucan. |
