Diagnosis of prion diseases

Prion diseases, in which abnormal prions are implicated, are detected or measured by taking a blood sample from an animal or human and separating therefrom mononuclear cells. The abnormal prions are detected in the cell lysate or after isolating prion protein there-from by any known technique, especially immunologically using anti-prion protein antibodies and enhanced chemiluminescent assay or immuno-PCR.
