<p>A compression cooling system, using a mixture of coolants having different boiling points, operates by (a) compression of vapourised mixture (b) partial condensation, (c) feeding condensate to the first of a succession of intermediate cooling stages involving sepn. into liquid and gas, throttling liquid to lower press. evaporating it to absorb heat, condensing of separated vapours, recycling of throttled liquid to stage (a), and feeding of condensed vapours to the separation of the next stage, (d) throttling the condensed vapours from the last of the intermediate stages to lower press. (c) evaporation of condensate from stage (d) to produce final refrigeration temp. the evaporated vapours being recycled, together with those from the intermediate stages, to compression stage (a).</p> |
