Procedure for tuning musical string instruments and device for implementing this. This consists of having a small case 1 on the fixed end of the instrument's strings, suitably distanced from the said strings by means of lateral bridge-supports 6, emerging from the lower base of the said case 1 small hooks 10, matching the strings 5 in number and position, capable of detecting the tension to which each string 5 is subjected at any time, supplying information to a small front screen 14 where the instantaneous values of each string's tension are comparable with preset, fixed values, corresponding to the state of optimum tension, i.e. the state of being tuned, so that when a deviation occurs in the former with respect to the latter, one just has to turn the tuning pegs 19 of the instrument to recover the match, to achieve perfect tuning of the instrument. <IMAGE>
