Safety device for door or window fastening mechanism

The safety device comprises a spring-loaded locking pin (13) inside a cover (5) on a fixed or opening frame (2), which engages when released with a hole in the door or window fastening mechanism (8), e.g. in the form of a sliding bolt. When the moving panel of the door or window is closed the locking pin is withdrawn from the fastening mechanism by a control member (22) which fits under the head of the pin, allowing the fastening mechanism to be operated.
