[Also in Divisions F1 and H2] An air pump comprises a variable volume pumping chamber 58 having inlet and outlet ports 70, 71 controlled by a resilient valve disc 20. The valve disc 20 is covered by a chassis 17 provided with inlet and outlet passages 66, 67 and has slots 60, 61 which are laterally displaced with respect to the inlet passage 66 and outlet port 71, whereby flexing of the valve disc to open the slots has to occur before communication is established between the ports 70, 71 and their respective passages 66, 67. A ring 22 having a bayonet lock connection with the chassis 17 clamps the valve disc 20 between the chassis and a housing 21a.</p> |
