<p>Trellis coding for quantisation level sampling transmission (PCM) modems is so implemented that the coding applies only to the lower levels. Since the encoder may not always have access to the information necessary to implement the encoding by means of rotations, the implementation is by means of reflections. The coding method is generally applicable to any logarithmically distributed constellation.</p> |
