Device for aerodynamic resistance reduction on aircraft

Foil-type light waveguides (5) are glued to the surfaces of the aircraft and charged by high energy lasers. The surfaces of the waveguides facing the ambient air are coated, and the frequency of the laser impulse is greater than the frequency of the molecular vibrations of nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere. The waveguide consists of a glass layer upon which are applied several dielectric coatings of one-tenth millimetre thickness.
