摘要 The process according to the invention controls the performance of a vertical suspension smelting process or a so-called flame smelting process. The control of the performance is based on controlling the reactions of the semi-rigid conversion layer of the suspension oxidation, which conversion layer is formed from the oxidation product when the suspension is tapped out, and controlling the quantity ratios for the iron sulphide oxidation between the suspension oxidation and the conversion oxidation. Both the customary process and the process according to the invention make use, in the selective oxidation of the still-remaining iron sulphide of the suspension oxidation product, of ferric-ferro-iron conversion in both the solid and molten states. In the process according to the invention, it is possible, inter alia when producing valuable metal-rich sulphide stone, to leave, when oxidizing the suspension, a part of the iron sulphide unoxidized when the selectivity of the oxidation process begins to decrease, when the activities of the valuable metals and iron in the sulphide smelt are altered. In this connection, more ferric iron, in the molten state, is used, in addition to the ferric iron content in the solid magnetite of the oxidation product, for selectively oxidizing the sulphidic residual iron in the suspension oxidation product. In this connection, the ferric iron content of the oxidation product is supplemented with the ferric iron content in the preoxidized slag phase which is used for the additional oxidation. When the suspension is tapped out, the progress of the reaction, the reaction delay time, the contact surface between the reaction components, and the heat transfer which is required for the conversion reactions, are improved substantially for the semi-rigid conversion layer, which is formed from the oxidation product of the enrichment and which is laminar in nature, by mixing the conversion layer with the upper layer of the slag smelt, which smelt lies beneath it and is preoxidized if required. The mixing is performed using the high-speed product gas streams of the preoxidation and the additional fuel, the quantity of which streams can be regulated. The novel process offers versatile and extensive selection and control possibilities for improving the performance of the vertical suspension smelting process.
