A drive roller (3) is driven by the offset socket drive (10) and has a profiling which more or less form-lock engages in the base component of the edge protector. A counter-pressure roller (4) is located at a defined distance away from the drive roller and interacts with it to produce a feed motion of the edge protector. A guide pin (7) is provided for spreading apart of the edge protector cover lip. A pressure roller (5) with a shaped guide shoulder (6) presses the edge protector onto the inner edge of the door opening.
