<p>Proposed is a table-tenis bat with a single-piece blade to which covering layers can be attached over the playing surface on one or both sides, the bat having a handle built round an extension of the bat blade which runs down the whole length of the handle and to which side-pieces are attached on each side. The bat has the following features: one of both of the side-pieces (2) has a recess on the side facing the blade extension, thus forming a cavity inside the handle; viewed at right angles to the handle axis, the cavities have a circular or elliptical cross section; the side-pieces (2) are joined along their whole length at their edges to the blade extension; at the end remote from the playing surface, the side-pieces (2) are open or closed off by a flexible element.</p> |
