The window (V) in a vehicle door (1) can be displaced relative to the door by a runner assembly (6) and a runner guide (7). The runner is fixed to the window and the guide is fixed to the door structure such that the runner holds the window flush with the adjacent bodywork element. The runner comprises a rigid support (10) in which is housed a seal (11) mounted on the runner guide. The branches of the U shaped seal wrap round the window guide and have internal smooth parts (11a) in contact on all their surfaces with the guide. Extended parts (11b) have sealing lips (11c) supported on the guide. The runner is glued onto the window in a zone hidden by a silk screen (9). A seal (12) is housed between the window and the adjacent bodywork part.
