The oven door, consists of at least two panes of glass, an outer pane (2) and an inner one (3), held in a frame (4) with a gap (5) between them by top and bottom rails (6) which are in direct contact with the panes and joined by additional vertical fixings. The rails and additional fixing members can be made from thin steel or from painted sheet steel components. The top and bottom rails are equipped with fittings such as a handle (13) and hinges (12). The door can have additional panes of glass (7) between the main outer and inner panes, and the rails can be held together by spring-loaded fixings.
