The stopper, for bottles with a spring or lever stopper system, is a pressed glass stopper body. Also claimed is a manufacturing process where molten glass is fed in a cutting station to a multi-station assembly including a round turret table (8) with a number of stations. Accurately dosed glass drops are cut, and passed to the mould (9). A needle (10) to form a drilling is moved across the longitudinal axis in the opening direction, where both half mould sections (9a,9b) are closed. The glass drop is passed into the mould at the head section (1) of the stopper, or in the ring beading zone at the stopper head. The table (8) is rotated, with the mould and the glass drop, to the press station (15), for the glass drop to be pressed within the closed mould. The table (8) is rotated further, to bring the mould into one or more cooling positions (33). The mould is opened in the radial direction of the table, where the stopper is removed (34). The mould is closed when the table brings it to the next station (27).
