Operating positive displacement pump to transport medium

The positive displacement pump (1) has a pump housing (10) containing several oscillating or rotating displacers operated by a drive (2). The pump moves a medium being transported with a constant movement of the displacers over time. There is a superimposed motion varying in opposite phase to the delivery output pulsations. Preferably, the pump is a rotary piston pump with two rotors. The rotors turn in opposite directions at a speed which fluctuates periodically from the nominal speed at a function of the angle of rotation, length of the period of fluctuation being related to the number of vanes on the rotors.
