PURPOSE:To provide a coupling structure of an air bag cover and a base plate and its method, adopting a simple mechanism as a clamping means between the base plate and the air bag cover while enabling it to easily cod with even in a job for automation in,both coupling and clamping processes upon being simplified and, what is more, dispensing with any fastening means by means of a rivet or the like, bringing its firm clamping function into full play in addition to the secureness of large counterforce against the unfolding force of this cover. CONSTITUTION:This is a coupling structure in which each peripheral edge side wall 12a of a base plate 12 is fitted and secured to each peripheral edge rising wall 14a of an air bag cover 14, and it is projected outward to an upper end edge of the side wall 12a of the base plate 12 from the side wall 12a, while the tip is bent almost in parallel with the side wall 12a, and it has two section U-shaped fitting parts fitted in the rising walls 14a of the air bag cover 14. In this constitution, each engaging projection 18b engaged with each engaging hole 14b of the rising wall parts 14a of the air bag cover 14 is provided in each fitting piece 18a of these fitting parts. |
