<p>A vehicle door latch and handle mechanism including a cable-driven door latch (4) wherein a sheath (30) encasing a cable (32) pushes on a trigger (12) in the latch mechanism to actuate a latchbolt (6) and cause it to disengage a striker (8). Tensioning of the cable (32) causes the sheath (30) thereabout to straighten and push upon the trigger (12) for the latch (4).</p> |
