A base station for mobile communication system which performs more simultaneous connections while suppressing an increase in cost and maintaining the communication quality. The base station is for a mobile communication system which performs diversity reception, and provided with an RF section that generates a plurality of high-frequency transmitting signals, an antenna switching section that feeds the transmitting signals outputted from the RF section to one of a plurality of antennas selected by switching, a cross switch (460) that inputs transmitted data from TDMA processing sections (471 and 472) to the transmitting sections (433 and 434) of the RF section straightly or crosswise, and a control section (446) which controls the antenna switching section so that each transmitting signal can be connected to a different antenna.
