To prevent fingers being trapped by vehicle window 11 rising towards sealing channel 21, a force applied by the fingers along channel wall 22 causes seal region 36 to act on active zone 63 of force sensing resistor 61 to stop and reverse the window. A force applied along wall 23 rocks base member 41 on its surface 43 so that region 50 of the member acts on active zone 63. If window 11 itself enters the channel it abuts channel web 24 without activating zone 63 of resistor 61. The system may used with other closures.
