A monolithic switching regulator includes an operational amplifier which is provided with a small frequency compensation capacitor, which determines the amplifiers unity gain frequency. The non-inverting input is driven at a frequency that is below its unity gain frequency and presents a capacitance having a value of the order of nanofarads, which value would ordinarily require an excessive chip area if fabricated as an actual capacitor. <IMAGE> |
