<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically prolong the service life of a vapor-deposited magnetic recording tape (ME tape), etc., for grinding a recording/reproducing head by raggedness of the surface. SOLUTION: By a switch 22, the recording tape tension (73grf in the case of 1/2" width) held in a recording tension setting circuit 200 is selected at the time of recording operation, and the reproducing tape tension (70grf in the same as above) held in a reproducing tension setting circuit 202 is selected at the time of reproduction. The tape tension applied to the ME tape 10 is detected by an angle detecting part 24 in accordance with the angle of a tension regulator 14. A set value of the tape tension and an actual value at the time of running are detected by a comparator circuit 26. By a motor driving circuit 28, the ME tape 10 is run with 73grf of the tape tension at the recording time and with 70grf of the tape tension at the reproducing time.</p> |
