PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent slack which is probably formed on a web after a cleaning web is replaced with a new one and minimizing rotational load on a take-up- roller driving motor, and prevent stopping the device due to abnormal detection caused by the minimization. SOLUTION: A fixing device comprises a cleaning mechanism which feeds a cleaning web 50 for each piece of given pieces of paper and updates a cleaning web surface contacting with a peripheral face of a heating roller 61, and a controller 57 which controls action of the cleaning mechanism. The controller 57 has a mode in which when the cleaning web 50 is replaced with a new one a cycle for replacing the cleaning web is reset, and, when the cleaning web is taken-up after reset of replacing cycle, actuates the cleaning mechanism so that feeding length of the cleaning web is enough longer than that of normal taking-up to remove slack of it. |
