PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert NOX in exhaust gas efficiently into N2 by making an alumina carrier carry at least palladium and zinc in a substance in which nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas are brought into contact with ammonia for purification. SOLUTION: An ammonia denitration catalyst which is used in a process in which nitrogen oxides(NOX) in exhaust gas discharged from an electric power plant, etc., are brought into contact with ammonia for purification is prepared by making an alumina carrier carry at least palladium (Pb) and zinc (Zn). Or, it is prepared by making a porous carrier of ceria carry at least Pd. In the ammonia denitration catalyst, NOX purifying performance can be improved further by the coexistence of Pd and Zn. The content of Zn is preferably 0.05-1 mole per 120g of the alumina carrier, and 0.1-25g of Pd is carried preferably by 120g of the alumina carrier. |
