PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hole a conference which is rich in presence by transmitting and receiving different kind of moving picture signals, voice signals, conference material signals, and signals generated by editing those signals by ATM cells between a videoconference terminal device and a videoconference server which are connected by an ATM communication network. SOLUTION: When one of videoconference terminal devices 2a to 2d makes a request to open a videoconference, a videoconference management server 4 searches for a free videoconferencing server among videoconference servers 3a to 3b. The videoconference management server 4 sends information needed for a connection with this videoconfernce server at conference opening time, and the videoconference terminal devices 2a to 2d are connected to the videoconference server through the ATM communication network 1. Difference kind of moving picture signals, voice signals, conference material signals, and signals generated by editing those signals are sent and received between the videoconference terminal devices 2a to 2d and the videoconference server by ATM cells. |
