The invention relates to a teaching method for learning and improving knowledge of the English language which may be applied to books/publications (or other means of transmitting knowledge - e.g. optical discs (CD ROM)). The method, on marketing (publishing) the end product, requires three stages of processing: 1. Assembling a group of individuals who have a moderate knowledge of the English language and giving them the text selected for processing (English literature). Each of the members of the group undertakes, separately, to read it and note the words he considers "difficult" or unknown. 2. Collection, by the tutor of each book (teacher of the English language), of texts with notes and grouping of "difficulties" or unknown words that must be explained. 3. Explanation of each word, which is given in the English language, by the use of simpler words with similar meaning, ancillary phrases or pictures and sketches, on the right side of the page of the text in which they are contained. Exercises for memorising the difficulties or unknown words are placed at the end of the standard text together with the synonyms that are given on the right-hand side of the page of the standard text. |
